As part of the promotions, the pillars at Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s (NAIA) Terminal 3 Arrival Area stood tall with posters featuring star players participating in the tournament. The posters were also integrated with QR codes that viewers could scan to purchase tickets for the matches.

The tournament began on 25th August and will see a total of 32 countries participating. 16 teams will advance to Round 2. A further 8 teams will advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament beginning on 5th September. The world cup will have a total of 92 matches, with final to be played on 10th September in Manila.
